Who we are

Pledge A Smile Foundation is a not-for-profit company registered under Section 8 of the Companies Act 2013, CIN U85300DL2020NPL366994, registered office 336, Sec-16, Dwarka, New Delhi. We are registered under 12A and 80G of the Income Tax Act (80G approval AALCP2854P25DL02, valid to 31/3/2031), registered for CSR-1, and listed on NGO Darpan as DL/2020/0262693.

Using this website

You may read this site, share its pages, and use its forms to donate, offer a collection drive, claim an internship certificate or write to us. No account is needed.

The site is for adults: donating and applying for an internship are for people aged 18 and over. Give details that are true. A wrong PAN or a mistyped email is the usual reason a certificate never arrives.

Donations

A donation to Pledge A Smile Foundation is a voluntary gift. You receive no goods, services, membership, entry or benefit of any kind in return, and nothing on this site is for sale.

Donations are taken in Indian rupees through Razorpay, one-time or as a recurring monthly gift, in amounts between ₹50 and ₹5,00,000; for anything larger, write to [email protected]. A monthly gift is charged every month until you cancel it, which you can do at any time. See our refund policy.

Unless you give for a named programme, we decide where your gift is used.

We may decline or return a donation: where a payment appears unauthorised, where the source of the money is unclear, or where accepting it would breach Indian law.

Foreign contributions

Our FCRA application is pending, so we cannot accept foreign contributions. If you live outside India or hold a foreign passport, write to [email protected] before you give, so we do not have to return your money later.

80G certificates

Donations to us qualify for a deduction of 50% of the amount given, under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act. The certificate is Form 10BE, generated from the Form 10BD return we file, so some conditions come from the law:

• We need your PAN to issue your 80G certificate, whatever the amount. Without a correct PAN the donation cannot be reported and no certificate issued.
• The deduction is claimed against Indian income tax, so it is of use to you only as an Indian taxpayer.
• The certificate is issued for the donation as it was actually received: the amount, the date and the name on the payment.
• Certificates follow the Income Tax Department's annual filing cycle. If one is wrong because a detail we were given was wrong, tell us and we will correct our filing.

Ask for a certificate at checkout or through the 80G certificate form. We are not tax advisers; what the deduction is worth in your own return is a question for yours.

Refunds

Donations are generally non-refundable, but we do return duplicate and accidental payments. The rules, the seven-day window and how to ask are set out in our refund policy.

Internships, drives and other forms

Sending a drive enquiry or an internship application starts a conversation. It is not an offer of a place, a role or employment, and none of these forms creates a contract. We read what comes in and come back to you.

Internship certificates are issued against our own records of the work done. We check a claim first, and we will not issue a certificate the record does not support.

Figures, stories and photographs

The impact figures on this site come from the foundation's own records. They are cumulative, they change as the work continues, and we correct them when we find them wrong.

The photographs, words and design here belong to Pledge A Smile Foundation unless stated otherwise, and the people in our photographs appear with permission. You may link to our pages and quote us with credit, but not republish our photographs or text, or use our name or logo commercially or in a way that implies we endorse you, without our written permission. Write to [email protected].

Acceptable use

Do not use this site to break the law or to interfere with it: do not try to reach systems or records you have not been given, do not submit payments or details that are not yours, do not scrape or overload the forms, do not upload anything harmful, and do not send abuse, spam or another person's data through them.

Links to other websites

This site links out to other organisations, to news coverage and to our payment gateway. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Once you leave pledgeasmile.com, their terms apply.

Availability

We keep the site up and its content accurate as best we can, but cannot promise it will always be available, error-free or current. We may change or remove pages, and may take the site down for maintenance.

Limitation of liability

So far as Indian law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site, from a payment failing at the gateway, or from a page being unavailable. Where we are liable in connection with a donation, that liability is limited to the amount of the donation. Nothing here limits our liability for fraud.

Privacy

What we collect and why, and the rights you have over it, are set out in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the law or our processes change. The current version is always the one on this page, with its effective date at the top, and your donation is governed by the terms in force on the day you gave.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at New Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of this site.
