WHAT IT IS

An internship you can do from anywhere.

The programme runs online and flexibly around whatever else you are doing. You get a target of your own, a mentor and a plan for the week, and you work through it from wherever you are.

  • No prior experience

    Most interns arrive having never worked with an NGO. That's the normal starting point here.

  • Free, and always has been

    No fee to apply, no fee to take part. If anyone ever asks you to pay to intern with us, it is not us.

  • Real work, reviewed weekly

    You own a target of your own, report on it each week, and get feedback from the team that reads it.

  • Paid, with a certificate

    The internship is paid: a performance-based stipend. Every intern who completes their term receives a certificate.

WHAT YOU TAKE AWAY

You leave having actually done the work.

You are given a target of your own and the support to reach it. These are the skills every intern leaves with.

  • Leadership skillsYou own a goal and the plan to reach it, make the calls along the way, and answer for the result at the weekly check-in.
  • Communication skillsWriting and speaking to people you do not know, clearly enough that they reply, and following up without being a pest.
  • Working in a teamA small team with a shared target. You learn to ask for help early, share what is working, and pick up the slack when someone is stuck.
  • Setting and tracking a targetYou set a weekly goal, plan your days around it, and report what actually happened, not what you hoped would.
