PROGRAMME BRIEF ▪ FY2026

Project Muskaan, measured

The education programme in its own numbers: 500+ children since 2020, sixteen centres, and a per-child cost that's a rounding error against a lifetime of earnings.

What it is

Project Muskaan strengthens Special Training Centres (STCs) in Delhi government schools, bridge classrooms under the Samagra Shiksha framework that get out-of-school children into age-appropriate classes. The model is adoption, not a one-off drop: identify and adopt a centre, map its needs with educators, deliver support, then track attendance, retention and learning each cycle.

The roster

Muskaan works across 14 STC centres and two orphanages, the Grih Girls and Grih Boys homes. Since 2020, more than 500 children have come through the programme (Pledge A Smile Foundation records, confirmed September 2026).

What the numbers say worked

Two outcomes carry the brief. Attendance at supported centres ran about 5 percentage points above comparable unsupported ones, and every child who completed the bridge course at a supported centre in the last completed school year was mainstreamed into a formal school (Pledge A Smile Foundation records, confirmed September 2026). Mainstreaming is the outcome that matters: a child returned to the age-appropriate class they were pulled out of, not one parked in a bridge classroom indefinitely.

The unit cost

Muskaan runs on about ₹12,000 per child per year, roughly ₹3,68,000 per centre across 30–35 children (Pledge A Smile Foundation records, confirmed September 2026). Partners who want to adopt a centre with us: write to [email protected].

Where it goes next

The 2026 plan expands to 250+ children across more STC centres, adding foundational-literacy modules, projector lessons and teacher workshops (Pledge A Smile Foundation records, confirmed September 2026). Hyve Solutions backs this work as a CSR partner, and there is room for more.

The numbers are real.
So is the need.
